So, yes, this session took place back in August. And, yes, I fully understand that it’s October.

Clearly, I’m a little behind in blogging. {But if you “like” me on Facebook, then you already saw these images. And then, technically, that means I’m not so far behind, right? Let’s just go with that, mmkay? Mmkay.}

Even if you have seen the photos on Facebook, you haven’t heard the story of the session. So here goes.

J is my kind of gal. She clearly knows what she wants and goes for it. Because when I gave the slightest hint here on the blog that I was “officially” doing photography, she contacted me saying she wanted to book a session. Only, she was in Madison. And I don’t go to Madison. At least, I didn’t think I did.;)

So when I regretfully declined, I gave her the name of a photographer friend in Madison and figured that was it. But she called back and said that photographer was booked, and several others weren’t getting back to her. I felt bad. I mean, she just wanted what every mother wants — some nice family photos and some shots of her daughter who was turning 1. I mean, why should it be so hard, right? So I said yes. I’d come to Madison and do the session.

And you know what? It was totally awesome. I’m SO glad she twisted my arm.;)

Not only did we get some beautiful shots that Jackie says she loves, but hello, I got two total hours to myself in the car! Amen!

I listened to whatever I wanted on the radio. I had some much needed time alone with my thoughts. And just enjoyed some peace and quiet. No one threw books at my head as I drove. No one screamed “He won’t give me my sunglasses!” or “Mooooooom! He just snapped my sunglasses in half!” Just me, the road, and some sweet, sweet peace and quiet.
Well, and some shots of this adorable fam, of course.

The coolest thing about this session? J and K got married here five years ago. That image of S walking while holding on to her parents’ hands? EXACTLY where J and K said ‘I do.’

::swoon::
